Pearson Edexcel International A Level results for the June 2026 series reach students on Thursday 13 August 2026 — the same day as UK A Level results. Schools and centres receive them under embargo the day before, on 12 August, so your school controls exactly when and how you get yours on the day.

How Your Results Reach You

1
Through Your School

Pearson sends results to your school or centre, not directly to you. Most schools share them on results day by email, a school portal, or in person. Ask your exams officer beforehand how and when yours will arrive.

2
No Public Student Portal

Pearson has no central website where students log in for results — schools access them via ResultsPlus and pass them on. If your school runs its own results portal, that's the one to use.

3
Sent to Universities

If you applied through UCAS, your results are sent to your chosen universities automatically. Elsewhere, ask your school whether it forwards results or whether you send them yourself.

Official results dates are on the Pearson results-dates page (which confirms IAL candidate results on 13 August 2026), with more on the results & certification pages — but your school or exams officer is always the definitive source for your own arrangements.

The A*–E Grade Scale

Edexcel International A Levels are graded A* (highest) down to E, with U for ungraded — the same letter scale as UK A Levels.

What the grades mean

A* A B C D E U
  • A* rewards very high performance across the full A Level, with extra weight on the A2 units
  • A–E are pass grades; U means ungraded
  • An AS grade is capped at A (there is no A* at AS)

Units, UMS and boundaries

IAL is modular: your overall grade is built from AS and A2 unit results, combined on the Uniform Mark Scale (UMS) so marks compare fairly across sessions. Pearson sets and publishes the grade boundaries after each series, so they move with paper difficulty — a raw mark is not a fixed grade. See our guide to grade thresholds for how this works.

Results and University Places

International A Levels are accepted for university entry worldwide. In the UK, offers are confirmed through UCAS once your results arrive on 13 August; elsewhere, universities set their own processes.

If you meet your offer

Your place is confirmed automatically through UCAS (for UK universities) — you don't need to do anything. Watch UCAS Hub for the status change and any enrolment steps from the university.

If you narrowly miss

Contact the university straight away — many still accept a near miss, especially your firm choice. If not, your insurance choice or UCAS Clearing can find another place. Ask about a review of marking before any deadline passes.

If you exceed your offer

You may be able to trade up to a higher-ranked course. Weigh it carefully against the offer you already hold, and check each university's process and timing directly.

Clearing and university deadlines vary by country and course — always confirm the exact steps and dates with the university and your school's careers or UCAS adviser.

After Results Day

Reviews of Marking

If you believe a unit was marked incorrectly, your school can request post-results services from Pearson:

  • - Clerical re-check of marks
  • - Review of marking by a senior examiner
  • - Access to scripts (see your marked paper)

There is a priority service where a university place depends on the outcome. Requests go through your school; grades can go down as well as up.

Resitting Units

Because IAL is modular, you can lift your grade without redoing the whole A Level:

  • - January 2027 series: resit individual AS or A2 units months after results
  • - June 2027 series: the full unit range runs again
  • - Your best UMS mark in each unit counts, so a resit can only help your total

Entries go through your school; January deadlines typically fall in October 2026. Confirm which of your units run in January with your exams officer.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are Edexcel International A Level June 2026 results released?

Candidate results are released on Thursday 13 August 2026 — the same day as UK A Level results. Schools and centres receive them under embargo the day before, on 12 August, and decide how to share them with students, so confirm the exact timing with your exams officer.

Can I check my IAL results online myself?

Not directly from Pearson — there is no central student results website. Results go to your school or centre, which passes them to you by email, its own portal, or in person. If you applied through UCAS, your universities receive them automatically. Ask your school in advance how it will share yours.

Is IAL results day the same as UK A Level results day?

Yes — both Edexcel International A Level and UK GCE A Level candidate results are released on Thursday 13 August 2026. Edexcel International GCSE results follow a week later, on 20 August 2026.

What is the A* grade in IAL and how is it awarded?

A* is the top overall A Level grade. It rewards a strong performance across the whole qualification, with additional weight on the A2 (second-year) units. There is no A* at AS level, where the highest grade is A.

Can I resit IAL units if I'm unhappy with a grade?

Yes. IAL is modular, so you can resit individual units in the January 2027 or June 2027 series without redoing the whole A Level. Your best Uniform Mark Scale (UMS) result in each unit counts toward the overall grade, so a resit can only help. Entries go through your school, with January deadlines typically in October 2026.

What if I miss my university offer on results day?

Contact the university straight away — many accept a near miss, especially your firm choice. If not, your insurance choice or UCAS Clearing (in the UK) can find another place. If you think a unit was mismarked, ask your school about a review of marking, including the priority service used when a place depends on it, before any deadline passes.

Results dates on this page follow Pearson's official results-dates page, which lists Edexcel International A Level candidate results on 13 August 2026 (centre release 12 August).

Your school or exam centre is the definitive source for your own results, timings and any review-of-marking or resit deadlines — always check with your exams officer.
